President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has since intervened and ordered the sack of MAINA after it turned out he was secretly reinstated and redeployed to the Interior Ministry as Director of Personnel.
Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, IBRAHIM MAGU, said he was as shocked as other Nigerians about how MAINA managed to return to the country without being arrested by the security agencies despite having been declared wanted.
MAGU disclosed during an interview on a live television programmed monitored from Port Harcourt that the EFCC was working with other partners around the world to track down MAINA who appeared to have sneaked out of the country.
The manhunt is on for ABDULRASHEED MAINA who was allegedly smuggled into Nigeria and subsequently reinstated into the Federal Civil Service despite having a corrupt case to answer.
