The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned three persons before the Oyo State High Court in Ibadan over alleged visa fraud, forgery and obtaining money by false pretence.
The defendants are Emmanuel Serah Motunrayo, Awotunde Olugbenga and Idowu Olugbemi Sunday. Motunrayo and Olugbenga were arraigned on a 47-count charge involving alleged fraud of 23.4 million naira. The EFCC alleged that they collected money from victims after falsely claiming they could secure Canadian visas and flight tickets.
One of the charges alleges that the defendants obtained 527,000 naira from a victim in March 2025, while another count accused them of forging a Canadian visa purportedly issued by the Canadian government. The case was brought before Justice Olusola Adetujoye of the Oyo State High Court in Ibadan.
