The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has said that military support provided by the United States to Nigeria is not out of place and does not pose any threat to the country’s sovereignty.
The DHQ explained that the assistance from the United States was provided at no cost to the Federal Government and is mainly focused on training Nigerian troops and strengthening ongoing counter-terrorism operations across the country.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Micheal Onoja, stated this during a briefing in Abuja on ongoing military operations, adding that the collaboration should not be viewed as abnormal but as part of international security cooperation efforts.
