Reports say TSHISEKEDI died in Brussels at the age of eighty-four.
He was one of the country’s most important advocates of democracy, and helped found the Union for Democracy and Social Progress party in 1882.
TSHISEKEDI was due to head a transitional council under a deal for President JOSEPH KABILA to step down this year, before he travelled to Belgium for medical checks.
Emerging information indicates that the late opposition leader was original scheduled for appointment with his doctors last October, but that was delayed because of the long political negotiations in the country.
