A civil rights advocate, Opunabo Nko-Tariah, has defended Rivers State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara’s decision to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a move taken in the overall public interest.
Nko-Tariah dismissed criticisms surrounding the governor’s defection as baseless and unnecessary, emphasizing that the move would not negatively affect the state.
He noted that the defection would strengthen the security of Rivers State and ensure it is not taken for granted. The civil rights advocate also said the governor’s decision would facilitate the implementation of people-focused programs and further deepen democratic governance in the state.
