In a statement late on Thursday evening, the president condoled with the Royal Family and the people of the United Kingdom and the entire Commonwealth and the entire world in mourning the deat6h of Queen Elizabeth the second.
He also welcomed Your Majesty’s ascension to the throne in line with tradition and prayed that King Charles the Third’s reign will witness the continuing robust and sisterly relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Also, the New British Prime Minister Liz Truss, who was appointed by the Queen three days ago, described her as the rock upon which modern Britain was built
Speaking at downing street shortly after her death was announced by Buckingham palace, the Prime Minister said the queen touched the lives of millions around the world.
Prime Minister Truss also assured that the government and the people of the United Kingdom will support the new King as he begins his reign.
Queen Elizabeth II, who died on Thursday at the age of 96 is the UK’s longest-reigning monarch.
She was head of state of the UK and 14 other countries, including Australia, Canada and Jamaica
She is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren
In a statement released by the royal family, the queen died peacefully at Balmoral Castle on Thursday afternoon
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest son, Charles, has finally become king.
