The State Police Command spokesman, VICTOR ISUKU confirmed that the blast was set off near a military checkpoint along Gubio Road.
The Police Public Relations Officer said the bomb was detonated just as a pick-up van with nine persons on board emerged from a bush path to join the main road to Gubio town.
