APC Rejects Impeachment Proceedings Against Governor Fubara, Deputy

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has rejected the impeachment proceedings initiated by the State House of Assembly against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy.

In a statement, the party described the impeachment move as untenable, warning that it could further destabilize governance in the state.

The APC’s spokesperson in Rivers State, Darlington Nwauju, cautioned members of the House of Assembly against what he described as recklessness and impunity, urging lawmakers to exercise restraint in the interest of peace and stability.

Nwauju also emphasized that the current budget in operation in Rivers State remains valid, noting that it was passed by the National Assembly and duly assented to by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to him, the budget will remain in force until August 2026, and should not be used as a basis for political confrontation.
