All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally announced a serving member of the House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda, as its governorship candidate for Rivers State ahead of the 2027 general elections. The declaration was made by the party’s governorship primary election committee chairman and returning officer, Bitrus Kwamoti, during the announcement of results in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
Kwamoti stated that Chinda emerged winner after polling a total of 286,497 votes in the primary election conducted across the state. He described the exercise as peaceful and well-organised, commending party members and delegates for conducting themselves in an orderly manner throughout the process. According to him, the peaceful atmosphere reflected the maturity of the party in Rivers State.
