An unidentified man was kidnapped today by unknown gunmen along East-West road around Evekwu community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

An unidentified man was kidnapped today by unknown gunmen along East-West road around Evekwu community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen had blocked the same spot in the early hours of today robbing passersby and passengers of commercial buses.
The victim was said to have been picked up by the armed men who escaped through the nearest bush in the area.
Our correspondent also reports that the gunmen shot sporadically in air to scare people away before carrying out the operation.
Police officers from the Rumuji Divisional Police Headquarters were later seen at the scene of incident while removing the vehicle belonging to the victim.
