Amendment of hate speech bill is meaningless says UNIPORT senior lecturer

SADO, who is also a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Linguistics and Communication Studies at the University of Port Harcourt, said the Bill should be dropped.

Speaking with our correspondent IFUNANYA OBEME-NDUKWE, the UNIPORT Lecturer said the Nigerian law has already made enough provision to control offenders that infringe on the rights of people, making references to defamation and damages.

He said the proposed law is totalitarian in nature.
