EKPENYONG, who represents Oron Federal Constituency, was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before Justice IJEOMA OJUKWU.
The National Assembly member is alleged to have forged the Ordinary National Diploma Certificate of the Abia State Polytechnic and uttered a December 1999 West African Examination School Certificate.
He is accused of committing perjury before an Electoral Tribunal where he claimed that the certificates were genuine.
However; the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail by Justice OJUKWU in the sum of ten million naira.
He was also ordered to provide one surety in like sum, who must depose to an affidavit of means, provide two recent passports photograph and three years tax clearance certificate.
Additionally; the surety would have to write an undertaking to produce the defendant throughout the trial, while the case has been adjourned to 12th and 26th April, as well as 3rd and 4th May for trial.
