This was because of the absence of the accused person in court for the third consecutive time, following which Justice CHIWENDU NWOGU of the Port Harcourt High Court directed parties to show good faith in the trial.
Our correspondent reports that Justice NWOGU gave the charge after the Prosecuting State Counsel, GODWIN OBLA and the lead Defense Counsel, SEBASTIAN HON agreed that OJUKAYE needed to be given time to attend to appendicitis-related ill health.
Based on the development; the court adjourned the trial to 23rd February for report on OJUKAYE’s medical condition.
OJUKAYE FLAG-AMACHREE is facing multiple charges of attempted murder and murder and at the same time he is battling with deteriorating health condition.
He has therefore filed an application before the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt asking for the release of his traveling documents to enable him to seek medical attention abroad.
The Appellate Court will on 28th of February consider OJUKAYE’s application.
