Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Spikers on Wednesday, delivered a convincing performance at the 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship, beating Sococim (SOC) of Senegal 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-16) in the classification round in Abuja .
The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that coming off a tough loss in the Round of 16, CNS responded with courage and purpose.
The opening set was closely contested, with Sococim pushing hard early on. However, CNS held their nerve under pressure, showing composure in the final points to edge it 25-23.
In the second set, CNS tightened their block and picked up their attacking rhythm. With improved service pressure and quick transitions, they controlled the tempo and gradually pulled away to take the set 25-18.
CNS maintained their dominance in the third set, capitalising on Sococim’s defensive lapses and miscommunication.
Strong net play and consistent serving allowed CNS to cruise to a 25-16 , wrapping up the match in straight sets.
Reflecting on their previous defeat, CNS appeared sharper and more focused, demonstrating the depth and resilience of their squad.
With this win, they continue their campaign in the classification bracket with renewed confidence.
In another match ,Kenya Pipeline company Volleyball Club ( KPC),beat Armee Patriotiwue Rwandaise volleyball club (APR) 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-14) to reach the semi finals.
It was fairly close in the beginning of the set. Both teams traded points afterwards with big hits and blocks 21-18, but KPC of Kenya nailed it in a dramatic end 25-21.
However, APR was resilient, showing great determination in the second sets threw everything forward in search of an equaliser but failed and KPC won 25-17.
KPC maintained their momentum in the third set. They continue to found a gap between the block 10-6 . APR of Rwanda looked flat lost them another point and KPC took advantage to nail the set 25-14 to and secured a place in the last quarter final .

Club Femini De Carthage (CFC )of Tunisia beat Litto Team Volleyball (LTV) of Cameroon 3-0(25-12,25-19,25-22) to advance to quarter final.
16 teams are participating in the championship holding between April 1 to 14.
