ADC Denies Working for Northern Interests

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has denied claims that it is working in favour of Nigeria’s northern region.

ADC spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi described the allegations as baseless, saying the party is not aligned to any region, religion, or age group, but is focused on building a future for all Nigerians. The claims were made by former ADC presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu, who accused the party of promoting a northern agenda through its coalition moves.

Abdullahi said the party’s leadership is diverse and includes notable figures from the south. He alleged that some people were deliberately trying to create regional distrust to weaken the party.

On why no sitting governor has joined the ADC, Abdullahi said it was due to intimidation by government forces, stressing that the party remains open to all politicians and committed to being a truly national platform.
