A Port Harcourt Magistrate Court has remanded eight Pro-Biafran protesters for alleged unlawful protest and hoisting of the Biafran flag in public places in the Rivers State capital.
The accused persons are UCHENNA EMENIKE, OWOEDINYENE SAMUEL, CHUKWUNONSO NWAOLISA, OBILOR ONYEMACHUKWU, DESTINY AMUCHECHUKWU, OGBONNA GODWIN, WILSON EZEKA and BENEDICT EGELI.
They are also facing charges of chanting war songs, and causing fear to the public, but an application for them to be granted bail was turned down by Chief Magistrate B.M.F JAMABO.
A lawyer to one of the accused persons identified as PATRICK EGINE told correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA that his clients were arrested while they were going about their normal businesses.
