A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted bail to former National Security Adviser, SAMBO DASUKI, after he was arraigned on charges of illegal possession of firearms, brought against him by the Department of State Security Service. Justice ADENIYI ADEMOLA granted bail to DASUKI on self-recognition after he pleaded not guilty to the charges, but he was ordered to deposit his international passport with the court. The defence counsel, JOSEPH DAUDU who is a Senior Advoate of Nigeria, applied for bail with the assurance that his client would not jump bail or interfere with the investigation process.

There was no objection to the bail application by the Prosecution, and Justice ADEMOLA adjourned the case to 26th of October for hearing. Reports from the Federal Capital Territory say SAMBO DASUKI looked his normal self when he arrived at the court premises around 9 o’c lock in the morning. The charges against DASUKI followed the recovery of assorted firearms by DSS operatives during a raid on his private residence in July.
