A group of about one hundred persons yesterday staged a protest march to the Rivers State Government House to demand payment of compensation for demolished properties on Eagle Island Waterfront in Obio-Akpor area of the state capital.
Our correspondent gathered that the demands by the protesters date back ten years ago, as they claimed to have remained homeless ever since.
The leader of the group EDWIN LEYEE told journalists that life has been unbearable for their members, and called on the government to look into the issue.
