FIFA considering reduction of football duration from 90 to 60 minuets.

The International Football Association Board is also looking at a new rule that would require the stopping of the clock when the ball is not in play.

The IFAB acknowledged that playing two halves each of thirty minutes would increase respect, playing time and attractiveness of the game of football.

The IFAB proposed changes form part of a five-year strategy aimed at radically changing the laws of football.

In the meantime, Germany will begin the defence of their FIFA Confederations Cup title against Australia today in Sochi.
