A delegate of the African Students Union Parliament wants the Independent National Electoral Commission to initiate programmes to discourage young people from being used as instrument for electoral crisis.
EDEM DEBOE AYIH who is Majority Leader of the ASUP, made the call during a visit to the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Rivers State, GHESILA KHAN.
The student parliamentarian noted that most challenges encountered during and after elections are as a result of years of neglect of the special needs of young people.
In her responses, the Rivers State Resident Electoral Commissioner agreed with the group about the need for programmes to address social vices among the youth.
