Our correspondent reports that at least three people were killed and several others sustained bullet wounds in the violence last night.
A source at Ubima who confirmed the incident to our correspondent, said suspected cultists stormed the roundabout area in the community at about 8:30PM yesterday.
The hoodlums opened fire on a crowd at a viewing centre, killing three people, while several others survived with gunshot wounds.
However; the spokesman of the Rivers State Police Command, NNAMDI OMONI said only one death was recorded in the incident.
OMONI who is a Deputy Superintendent of Police said there has been reinforcement at Ubima to ensure that normalcy was restored and the hoodlums are apprehended.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker for Ikwerre State constituency, AZUBUIKE WANJOKU has condemned the killings at Ubima community.
In a statement obtained by our correspondent, WANJOKU appealed for an end to the killings in Ikwerre land, and for police to go after the sponsors.
