The attack in the northern Soum province happened to months after twelve soldiers were killed by militants in a raid near the Mali border.
The Burkinabe security minister SIMON COMPAORE told AFP news agency that the capital, Ouagadougou, has been placed on high security alert.
The security measure was put in place for the 25th edition of Africa’s biggest film festival, tagged Fespaco, which takes place every two years.
