You will recall that the Port Harcourt declared the Apara Rebisi stool vacant and barred Prince VICTOR WOLUCHEM from parading himself as the Paramount Ruler of Apara Rebisi Kingdom.
Speaking on the development; the Chairman of Port Harcourt City Council of Chiefs, AZUBUIKE NMERUKINI described the judgment as mere formality, since the council has already been performing the functions of the Apara Rebisi throne.
AZUBUIKE NMERUKINI told our correspondent in an interview that the Rivers State government has no right to select a traditional ruler for the community, as was done by the immediate-past administration led by ROTIMI AMAECHI.
NMERUKINI, who is also the Chairman of the Rivers State Local Government Commission, said Rebisi people had considered the stool of Eze Apara vacant since 20013.
