The House of Representatives candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, for Ikwerre/Emohua Federal Constituency, Pastor Edi London-Edi, has decried what he describes as frequent attacks and harassment of opposition supporters in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
London-Edi, who spoke in a television interview with Today FM’s Preye Izogu, expressed concern over what he described as a growing trend of political attacks targeting opposition candidates and their supporters in the area.
He called on security agencies to remain neutral in the discharge of their duties and provide adequate protection for all candidates and their supporters, irrespective of political affiliation.
The ADP candidate also appealed to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to act in his capacity as the Chief Security Officer of the state to protect lives and property across Rivers State.
London-Edi questioned why Ikwerre Local Government Area should become a flashpoint for political thuggery and harassment, warning that such incidents could undermine peaceful participation in the electoral process.
