The leader of the Conscience of Ogoni People, Gani Topba, has described Governor Fubara’s decision to withdraw from the 2027 governorship race as one taken in the overall interest of Rivers State.
Topba said the governor has consistently demonstrated commitment to peace and stability, even when faced with political pressure. He argued that stepping aside reflects leadership maturity and a willingness to prioritise the unity of the state over personal ambition.
