APC Excuses Three Governors from Re-election Screening Over Official Engagements

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disclosed that three incumbent governors seeking re-election were absent from Saturday’s screening exercise due to pressing official engagements in their respective states.

The affected governors are Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, Agbu Kefas of Taraba State and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, who is seeking to contest for the Kwara Central Senatorial seat.

Chairman of the APC and head of the Screening Committee for Sitting Governors Seeking Re-election, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, made the disclosure while briefing journalists after the exercise held at the Plateau State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

According to Yilwatda, the governors were unable to appear before the committee due to official state assignments but would later be screened by the APC National Working Committee (NWC).

The screening exercise is part of the party’s preparations ahead of its primaries for the forthcoming elections.
