Wike Ally Kingsley Chinda Appears Before APC Governorship Screening Committee

Kingsley Chinda, a political ally and kinsman of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reportedly appeared before the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Screening Committee ahead of the party’s governorship primaries.

Chinda, who currently represents Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, is also the Minority Leader of the House under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

His appearance before the APC screening panel has sparked speculations about his defection from the PDP, although there has been no official announcement confirming when he joined the ruling party.

Chinda is one of two known allies of Wike who have obtained APC governorship nomination forms ahead of the election.

The other aspirant is George Kelly, the Executive Secretary of the Border Communities Development Agency.

The development is expected to further intensify political realignments ahead of the governorship contest in Rivers State.
