Three members of the same family have died in a fatal road accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, while two other occupants sustained injuries.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident in a statement, noting that three vehicles were involved in the collision.
According to LASTMA, the crash occurred along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near the Secretariat area, on the lane heading towards the Otedola Bridge.
Emergency responders were promptly deployed to the scene, where the deceased victims were recovered and the injured taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention. LASTMA officials said traffic was temporarily disrupted as rescue operations and vehicle evacuation were carried out.
The authority advised motorists to exercise caution, adhere to traffic regulations, and avoid reckless driving to prevent similar tragedies on the busy expressway.
