Court Convicts 21 Foreign Nationals for Cybercrime, Orders Deportation

Justice Ekerete Akpan of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has convicted 21 foreign nationals over high-level cybercrime activities and fined each of them one million Naira.

The conviction followed a plea bargain agreement between the convicts and the Nigeria Police Force. In his judgment, Justice Akpan upheld the terms of the plea bargain and ordered the immediate departure of the convicts from Nigeria within six working days.

The court emphasized that the sentence was in line with the negotiated terms and warned against any future violations of Nigeria’s cybercrime laws.
