West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paquetá has been cleared of spot-fixing charges by the English Football Association (FA).
The club confirmed the development in an official statement, marking the end of a lengthy investigation that began in August 2023. Paquetá was formally charged in May 2024 for allegedly breaching betting rules, with a hearing that commenced in March.
The Brazil international was accused of involvement in spot-fixing during four Premier League matches—against Leicester City in November 2022, Aston Villa in March 2023, Leeds United in May 2023, and Bournemouth in August 2023. Paquetá denied all allegations.
The FA, which had sought a lifetime ban, presented its case before an independent regulatory commission, which ultimately cleared the player of all charges.
