ASUU Sule Lamido University Announces Two-Week Warning Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, SLUK branch, has announced a two-week warning strike over unresolved issues with the Jigawa State Government.

The strike is scheduled to commence at midnight on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

The decision was contained in a resolution issued after the union’s 54th Regular Congress Meeting held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences of the university.

The union said the decision followed its review of the outcome of the recent ASUU Emergency National Executive Council meeting and an update on its engagement with the Jigawa State Government.

ASUU said the warning strike was necessary due to the unresolved issues between the union and the state government.

The development is expected to affect academic activities at Sule Lamido University during the two-week period.
