Supreme Council of Government Recognized Ikwerre Traditional Rulers holds ROTIMI AMAECHI to discuss peace in Ikwerre nation.

The move by the delegation of Ikwerre traditional rulers led by the Vice Chairman of the council and the Nyenwe-Ali Akpor, Eze ANELE ORLU ORIEBE is part of overtures to reconcile the former governor of Rivers State and the incumbent, Governor NYESOM WIKE.

Speaking during the meeting with the Transport Minister, Eze Apara Rebisi and the Monarch of Port Harcourtat, Eze VICTOR WOLUCHEM the Second,  reminded ROTIMI AMAECHI that restoring peace in Ikwerre land would lead to more development.

Eze VICTOR WOLUCHEM urged the Minister to rise above sentiments and embrace efforts to resolve political differences that are standing against the search for peace.

In his response, the immediate-past governor of Rivers State stressed that he was a peaceful man by nature and would do his best not to stand on the way of restoring peace to Rivers State in general and Ikwerre nation in particular.

However, the efforts of the monarchs have not gone unnoticed as several Rivers indigenes have been commending the initiative; some reading various meanings into the peace overtures to ROTIMI AMAECHI and Governor NYESOM WIKE.
