The Supreme Court has reserved judgment in the ongoing legal dispute over the Edo State Governorship Election Petition. The apex court adjourned the case sine die, after hearing arguments from both sides concerning the election that resulted in Senator Monday Okpebholo being declared the duly elected governor.
Justice Garba Lawal, who presided over the appeal filed by Asue Ighodalo and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stated that a date for the delivery of the court’s judgment would be communicated to all parties involved in due course. The ruling is widely anticipated to have significant implications for the political future of Edo State.
