This is as suspected kidnappers terrorizing the area were reported to have barricaded the axis of the road, after kidnapping occupants of a vehicle.
The armed kidnappers were also reported to have shot sporadically in the air.
An eyewitness who confirmed the incident to Today FM, said the kidnappers, after diverting the first vehicle, tried to ambush the second vehicle, a situation which he said forced road users to stop movement on both sides of the road.
Our source also said it took an hour for the armed kidnappers to leave the road, after hearing the sound of a siren.
The Rivers State Police Command, through its Public Relations officer, Grace Iringe-Koko has however promised to get back to Today FM on the incident.
