Governor Wike said the signing of the VAT bill into law is not politically motivated as Lagos and Ogun States which are of the All Progressives Congress will be better beneficiaries of the law.
The Governor maintained that the judgement of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has sufficiently addressed the illegality perpetrated by the Federal Inland Revenue Services on behalf of the Federal Government in the collection of VAT in states.
He also said the act banning open grazing in the state will address the issues of farmers herders crisis in the state.
The Speaker of the Rivers House of Assembly, Ikuyi Uwaji-Ibani expressed hope that the new laws will benefit the people of the state.
