40 More Nigerians Evacuated from South Africa, Total Returnees Hit 1,174

Another batch of 40 Nigerian returnees has arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos from South Africa, bringing the total number of evacuees in the sixth phase of the repatriation exercise to 1,174.

The latest group arrived aboard a chartered flight on Friday night, complementing earlier arrivals transported by Air Peace and ValueJet. Air Peace operated four flights carrying 258, 266, 262 and 282 passengers respectively, while ValueJet conveyed 66 returnees.

The returnees expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving their immediate evacuation from South Africa. They also thanked all agencies and individuals involved in facilitating the successful repatriation exercise.
