This was made known by the Minister of Health, Professor ISAAC ADEWOLE, gave this indication in Abuja during the presentation of the National Healthcare Plan to officials of the World Health Organisation, WHO.
Professor ADEWOLE said that the neglect of the primary healthcare system was a major problem in the sector, stressing that one twenty percent of about thirty thousand primary healthcare facilities in Nigeria are working.
Responding; WHO Regional Director for Africa, Doctor MATSHIDISO REBECCA, assured the continued support of the organization for the Nigerian government.
