Zimbabwe’s opposition calls for fresh vote after ‘illegal’ election

The Citizens Coalition for Change urged the African Union and southern Africa’s regional bloc to help mediate a solution to the crisis that followed last Wednesday’s vote.

Eighty-year-old Mnangagwa, won a second term election with fifty two point six percent against forty four percent for the CCC’s Nelson Chamisa, according to official results announced on Saturday by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission.

International observers said the vote fell short of democratic standards.
