Zamalek football club of Egypt has reversed its decision to withdraw from the concluding part of the league season, less than twenty-four hours after the initial announcement. The reversal was announced after a meeting of the club’s board on Monday, which means Zamalek would not be banned from football for a year and relegated to the fourth division, if it had gone ahead with the withdrawal move. The defending champions had announced the decision based on complaint about poor officiating following a 3-2 loss to El-Gaish on Sunday evening. But the Egyptian federation explained that it had no problem with officiating of games.
