The World Health Organization said cholera infection is continuing to spread across Yemen with over twenty-nine thousand three hundred suspected cases reported in nineteen provinces of that country.
The latest cholera outbreak comes amidst a power struggle between a Saudi-backed government and Iran-aligned rebels, which has taken a toll on its healthcare centres.
It could be recalled that a state of emergency was declared in the rebel-held capital Sana’a, after a large number of cholera cases were detected in the city.
