This was disclosed in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, FEMI ADESINA.
According to the statement, President BUHARI asked the envoy to convey his concerns to South African President CYRIL RAMAPHOSA and engage him on the killings.
The statement comes hours after the minister of Foreign Affairs GOEFREY ONYEAMA met with South Africa’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, BOBBY MONROE.
The action of the President comes as Vice President YEMI OSINBAJO also condemned the rampant xenophobic attacks on Nigerians by South Africans.
Speaking with newsmen in Kano, Professor OSINBAJO described the assault and killing of Nigerians as reckless and contrary to the ideals South African leaders fought for.
