The residents believe that the flooding in area was as a result of the blockade of the underground drainage constructed under the administration of the immediate past Governor, ROTIMI AMAECHI.
To this end a group known as Inter Ethnic Network for Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has called on the government to urgently consider the need for a networked functional drainage system to reduce the suffering of the people especially during this rainy season.
According to the statement signed by a member of the Interim Management Team of the group, OZUMONUM GUDU, it however commended Governor WIKE for the ongoing de-silting of drainage in parts of the state.
They also group suggested constant maintenance of the drainage channels to ensure they are not blocked by silt, thereby causing flooding, and for the Governor to extend the de-silting to other major parts of the state.
