World Bank Scores Nigerian Government High on Ease of Doing Business Reforms

This followed the ranking of Nigeria among ten economies in the world that are showing the most notable improvement in the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business assessment.
According to a list that has just been published, the World Bank noted that Nigeria climbed twenty-four places in the ranking of countries to 145th position.
The Nigerian government embarked on business enhancement reforms in a bid to address complaints by local and foreign business leaders over delays caused by red tape, mismanagement and corruption in the system.
President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has welcomed the report, which he said reflects the efforts to make it easy for foreign business visitors to obtain visa on arrival, pass through the airports and do their businesses with ease and speed.
Two other Sub-Saharan African economies – Malawi and Zambia – also made it to the list of ten top improvers in the 2016/2017 World Bank Ease of Doing Business Report.
