Governor WIKE said friendship in politics, irrespective of party affiliation, would help to grow the Nigeria’s democracy and promote development.
The Governor made the call in his remarks during a symposium in Port Harcourt in honour of late Honourable OVUNDA NSIRIM.
Governor WIKE said friendship and reconciliation in politics would help to reduce tension in Rivers State.
He recalled that late OVUNDA NSIRIM entrenched the tenets of mentorship, friendship and reconciliation within the political framework during his time.
Also speaking, former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Chief OKEY WALI also underscored the legacies of late OVUNDA NSIRIM in mentorship and the political space.
The keynote address at the occasion was delivered by Professor SAM EGWU on the topic “Political Mentorship and the Leadership Question in Nigeria”.
