Wike: Police dismiss Murder indictment report.

The Force Headquarters said there was no time that the Inspector-General of Police gave an order to the Rivers State Commissioner of Police or any other police officer anywhere in the country to kill Governor WIKE.

In a statement circulated to media houses; the Force Public Relations Officer, JIMOH MOSHOOD, said there was no iota of truth in the allegations and false assertions made by Governor NYESOM WIKE against the Inspector General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force.

JIMOH MOSHOOD described the comments by WIKE as unbecoming of a governor, malicious and capable of misleading the public.

The statement noted that out of twenty-eight thousand police personnel and the personnel of the other security and safety agencies deployed to Rivers State, over two hundred and twenty policemen of various ranks are attached to Governor WIKE alone.

It also noted that Governor WIKE has never reported to the Inspector General of Police any security breach or lapses from the police personnel attached to him.

The Police High Command further clarified that only three Commissioners of Police have served in Rivers State since Governor WIKE assumed office, contrary to his purported claim that there had been nine Commissioners of Police since May, 2015.
