Governor Wike gave the commendation at the 65th birthday celebration of the senior lawyer in Port Harcourt.
The Governor narrated how Ukala being his family lawyer had intervened to get his family members released from police custody during a chieftaincy tussle in the past.
Governor Wike disclosed that the legal luminary, in whose law firm he worked after leaving the Nigerian Law School, took his family’s ordeal very personal and gave his best to ensure that they got justice.
Also speaking, former President of the Nigeria Bar Association Okey Wali said Ukala restored discipline in the bar when he served as a member of legal practitioner disciplinary committee.
On his part, Ukala, who said he was tricked by his children to attend the surprise birthday party they secretly organized, thanked Governor Wike, his wife and everyone who graced the occasion.
