The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has confirmed President Bola Tinubu’s intervention in the lingering political crisis in Rivers State, expressing optimism that the latest move could bring lasting calm to the troubled political landscape.
Wike made the disclosure on Tuesday while inspecting ongoing road projects in Abuja, noting that the President’s involvement demonstrates a commitment to restoring stability and ensuring governance is not disrupted in the state.
He said he hopes the current intervention would be the final time the President would need to step in to calm tensions among political actors in Rivers, stressing the importance of allowing peace to prevail in the interest of residents and development.
The former Rivers State governor did not provide details of the President’s specific actions but reiterated confidence that the measures being taken would help resolve the crisis and foster cooperation among stakeholders.
