The Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, ISA PANTAMI in a statement said no licence has been issued for the deployment of five gee technology in the country.
PANTAMI said his attention has been drawn to the health implication of the technology and a three-month study trial commenced on the 25th of November, 2019 to critically review, study the health and security implications of the technology in the country.
The Minister also said a directive was issued to Nigerian communications commission , NCC to ensure that a team of experts, security agencies and other stakeholders fully participate in the trial process.
He added that the trial process has been concluded while the study and reporting process are currently ongoing.
