The Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate said it has observed the sensible steps being taken by the Acting President, Professor YEMI OSIBAJO to convince the Niger Delta of the sincerity of the administration in finding genuine peace in the region.
The group applauded the recent government directive for oil companies to move their headquarters back to the oil producing region.
In an electronic mail statement released by its spokesman who goes by the name General ALDO AGBALAJA, the NDGJM advise the Acting President to make good his promise to come out to engage Niger Delta youth in discussions.
It noted that youths of the upland area of the Niger Delta are looking forward to pouring their hearts out when the opportunity come for an engagement with the Acting President.
The group however observed that Professor OSINBAJO had in his recent interactions with the Niger Delta stakeholders given attention to only the Ijaws, especially those in Delta State.
The NDGJM said such error needs to be corrected to avoid worsening the situation in the Niger Delta, adding that divide and rule will not work.
It said the people of the upland part of the region must be treated with same level of respect as those in the creeks as a means to guarantee security for the oil assets.
