USAID announce additional humanitarian assistance for people affected by Boko Haram insurgency in North-East of Nigeria as well neighbouring Countries

The donation announced by the Director in the U.S. office of the Foreign Disaster Assistance, JEREMY KONYNDYK is put at thirty-seven million dollars.

 

The US official made the announcement during a courtesy call to the office of Director-General of Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Agency, MUHAMMAD SANI, in Abuja. 

 

 

He said the savagery of Boko Haram has triggered a humanitarian crisis in Nigeria and surrounding countries in the Lake Chad Basin region.

 

KONYNDYK observed that despite gradually improving security conditions, the humanitarian situation in the North-East remains severe.
